Never played the game, but found it on eBay. Seller was nice enough to post fairly nice scans. Gave them a bit of a touch up here and there.

To download Hagane front and back cover scans head over to Super Nintendo section of the Archives and download away.

Mario holding a Super Scope light gun artwork

[caption id="attachment_668" align="aligncenter" width="800"]Mario with superscope gun and Yoshi Mario holding Super Scope light gun[/caption]

Hey Mario fanatics,

Here's a quick image I had rendered (extracted) from a Yoshi's Safari game manual. I might trace it for some kind of box art project later in the future. I have chosen this particular image when I had a hard time finding large one online.

Believe you me, when I say this over'n over again - I'm a sucker for Nintendo artwork and I often check old game manuals for my next box art inspiration.

I'm thinking of making a SNES Super Scope Test Cartridge box art. So far I was able to turn this scan:

[caption id="attachment_670" align="aligncenter" width="600"]superscope, nintendo, vector ilustration, lightgun Super Scope vector image from Yoshi's Safari game manual[/caption]

into this:

Mario & Wario Super Famicom cover box art

[caption id="attachment_653" align="aligncenter" width="800"]Mario & Wario Mario & Wario Super Famicom[/caption]

I just couldn't believe it!

While on the hunt for some hi-res cover sites I came upon a website andydecarli.com. Wow. This guy has some really nice high resolution game cover scans! You should check it out! One of the covers hosted on his site is Mario & Wario for Super Famicom. I just couldn't be happier to see it. Although some covers need touch up work, they still are a valuable source for Nintendo game box art.

So as usual, all I did was a bit of clone tool in Photoshop and some image cropping. Covers are available in Nintendo Super Famicom archives section, but all credit goes to Andy Decarli.

Enjoy!

River City Ransom Original Artwork - remastered

[caption id="attachment_642" align="aligncenter" width="894"]River City Ransom - Nintendo NES River City Ransom - Nintendo NES remastered box art[/caption]

Well, perhaps "remastered" is an overstatement...

Here is what I did:

1. Retraced "RCR" logo from scratch
2. Found original artwork picture online
3. Corrected some colors
4. Applied logos
5. Ant that's it.

What you're getting here is a 72dpi version. I could elaborate more on it, but as usually, just not enough time in a day. OK,I'll just add that it is one of my favorite games for NES.

BTW, stay tuned, as I'm already working on another SNES classic!

While reading some online articles about the history of Nintendo I came upon above image with old logo. I thought it was a good idea for a another logo project. I've made two simple playing card renders:

Nintendo Players Choice Million Seller Badge - logo

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="537"]Nintendo Players Choice Million Seller Badge by gamescanner Nintendo Players Choice Million Seller Badge[/caption]

This is something I did in about an hour. It's not a perfect match.

I had downloaded a cover form http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1112540&postcount=1 and cut out the logo. (Thank you Mayor McCheese for the scan). Then opened it with illustrator and started tinkering with it.

Lots of messy lines there. What I noticed right away is that shapes are not geometrically perfect. I didn't want to do it by hand, so there are some slight size differences between my logo and original artwork. It is almost unnoticeable to an untrained eye.

You can download it from Video Game Logos section of the archives. Good luck on recreating your artwork!
